Flea is a qualified teacher and has 12 years experience as a Learning Technologist with Plymouth University. She has contributed to the embedding of many initiatives, including Student Centred Learning; The Student Portal; Transition to H.E & Induction and, in collaboration with Educational Development, using PebblePad to support Personal Development Planning. She has recently researched and developed resources to advise students about managing online identity and using the web for networking and self-promotion. She is currently based in the Faculty of Arts for 3 days a week in addition to her role in the Central Team.
Flea develops both generic and subject-specific pedagogically-informed resources using a range of software for web, print and mobile devices. With a background in multimedia, her skills include illustration, web design, video and 3D animation. She also researches and evaluates new technologies, with the aim of inspiring others to use them. She does this through her blog, the University's Technology Enhanced Learning site and TEL Newsletter and numerous social networking platforms!
