JISC Digital Media – hurrah!

Video, audio, still images, cross-media – the site has so much helpful advice, case studies, tutorials, etc, plus a Helpdesk if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for. Flip…

The Flip camera is compact and costs so little it can’t really be very good, can it? Lets give it a ‘field’ trial. :) flipcam0

Ease of use: It can’t get any more simple than this, well at least not until thought controlled devices come to be. There is an on/off button on one side of the device and a flip-out usb connector on the other. A big red button starts/stops the recording, a play button allows reviewing of videos, a trash button allows videos to be deleted. Simple! Read more…

Podcast – what’s that then?

A podcast is an enhanced piece of digital media (video and/or audio) which is made available for download for use on mobile devices and computers. Podcasts go beyond the usual downloadable or streamed media embedded in web pages by providing the media through subscription feeds, often in a number of episodes, and where subscibing to the feed can trigger automated notification to the user of newly available episodes. Subscribers to podcast feeds can also elect to have any newly published material automatically downloaded to their mobile device or computer as it becomes available.
