An Experiential Learning CETL funded project awarded to Dr Mark Anderson and Meriel Fitzpatrick. This project combined a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) with an interactive website. The PDAs were GPS enabled and students were provided with a GPS linked digital map of the location. Students take the PDAs with them to Kingsands (Cornwall), as they reach a number of preprogrammed geological locations on the digital map, they are presented with question and or details about what they have found. The website also provides them with an interactive map showing the same locations and some 360 virtual reality images to familiarise themselves with the location prior to visiting the site.
